At least 68 people have been killed and 175 injured in the attack by suspected al-Shabab militants.

Madness.

Kamal Kaur, a radio presenter who was in the Mall with her two young children, told the BBC's Newshour: "A grenade was thrown at us and it went off. At the same time he shot at us. The bullet missed my son by just an inch; it bounced off the wall and hit the boy who was next to him. I was trying to pull the little boy down but unfortunately [the bullet] hit him and we all collapsed to the ground... [The attacker] came out again with his big rifle. My daughter kept whispering to everybody 'Pretend you're dead! Pretend you're dead!"

Been following this article on the daily mail website, quite upsetting and absolutely fucking terrifying!

So far 68 dead and 175 wounded, 3 Brits dead.

The Somali militant group al-Shabab says it carried out the attack on the upmarket Westgate shopping centre in response to Kenyan military operations in Somalia.

The group claimed that a 24-year-old man from London was one of the attackers. The al-Shabab Twitter account published a list of six people who took part in the attack before it was suspended.

I can't believe how fucked up this world is sometimes Shocked

RIP and god bless, hope the army kill all those bastard terrorists!

Yes, facking religion. This would be a far better world without it and the crazy thing is that it's just a load of bollocks. Just superstitious nonsense.

I agree with MB to a certain degree, religion is a cause of all our wars now.
Well in there heads anyway, very sad situation in Kenya.

You are absolutely right on this one MB!

But would we really have no wars if there was no religion?

I doubt it, we'd probably just find another excuse to fight.

Some of the footage is bizarre. Cameramen following the police and army round the precinct. You would never get that kind of coverage in the UK because the security forces would put a total lock down on the Mall and only the police and army would be allowed in.

A large percentage of the cops and army staff were not even wearing body armour. Perhaps the Kenyan authorities haver not yet got to grips with health and safety regulations?

They might not have the funds for all the body armour to be honest RT.

I saw one guy in the news wearing what looked like a home made bullet proof vest, it definitely didn't look like it was made commercially.

Only 11% of Kenyans are Muslims, the rest are predominately Christians. The current Prime Minister is related to Jomo Kenyatta, the father of the Mau Mau rebellion. The Kenyan people have no time for the Somalian rebels. Kenya is one of the few former British colonies that adopted our legal system and traditional values. The Kenyans rely heavily on tourism and Somalian pirates have been kidnapping foreign tourists in Kenya and taking them over the border to demand ransoms. It has damaged Kenya's reputation as a safe haven for tourists and the Kenyan authorities have been forced to take a hard line with Al Kebab and the rest of the nutjobs.

Expect more of the same from any country that promotes western values. The war of the crusades is upon us again but the goalposts have changed somewhat because the enemy now possess some serious hardware.

What has happened in Nairobi could easily happen in the UK again and that really is frightening.

After looking at some of the images of the army again, they do seem to be wearing bullet proof vests.  I guess some who are not wearing them either don't have one or don't like wearing them. Shocked

Very true Karly. However unpalatable it may sound, we are at war. Our biggest weakness is our tolerance and sense of fair play and justice. We have bent over backwards as a nation to accommodate a multi-cultural society but it comes at a price.

Oil is the new global commodity and them that have it hold the upper hand. I suspect that what happened at Hiroshima and Nagasaki will pale into comparison in the future.

Five terrorists killed and eleven captured and in custody. That is a serious task force of nutters armed to the teeth. I'm surprised the Kenyans didn't kill the eleven they captured to save money on a lengthy trial.

I expect more of the same. The Trafford Centre and Bluewater in Kent should hopefully have contingency plans in place because it's not beyond the realms of possibility for a similar act to be carried out on British soil.

On the plus side it's pleasing to see President Rouhani of Iran coming to the UN table to try and build bridges with the US.

I agree especially with killing the terrorists, make them pay for the murders they have committed, they don't deserve to live.  They should get as much intelligence out of them with any means possible (incl. torture) then hang them!

Glad it is finally over now!

The trafford centre is very lucrative with it being next to the motorway for terrorists in my opinion.

They don't need a footy forum to form ideas. Youtube and other media sites are full of propaganda. This documentary is very interesting. It's an hour long but it gives a balanced view from both sides of the coin.
