Dougie: “We have shown today that we have the capability to win football matches and we played well in the first half but we gave the game away within 11 minutes of the second half.”

“We might need to bring in one or two different types of characters.

“That’s the plan B – we have to go and get some in to try and get some momentum.

“There is no question the players here have ability but their mind-set needs to change.

“We are lacking in confidence at the moment and when Brighton scored their first goal you could see a lack of focus. I understand exactly what we have to do, we have to keep working and we have to put in a performance for 90 minutes.

“We need a couple of players in on loan and time to gel as a team.”

"We have shown today that we have the capability to win football matches"

Very Coyle-esque. We lost 3-1 you wanker, in what world does that show a capability to win?

Sack him now Garty.

Couldn't agree with you more on that.

Played well ???  BBC says we only had 37% of the possession and the posters on here who were at the game say they were all over us.

well in the games I've seen we've squandered some very good chances.

clearly thats what he means when he says that.

Be a bit strange for him to come out and say "we've shown we can't win, and won't win this season, and it was nice to be called "scum" as i got on the bus home"

he just can't have a wholesale change of the team, as he's put al his faith in the current bunch. If he changes too many, it will look as though the fans are driving the team selection, and we know thats not going to happen

Stoke City very rarely had above 50% possession under Pulis. They didn't do too badly though.

Basically Im saying making a judgement based on BBC possession stats is stupid.

believe it or not i saw a few tweets after the Brighton game questioning him dropping knight.

quite simply the fans will slag absolutely anyone and anything off and will say whoever is not playing or whatever is not happening is what we should be doing... until we do it and it doesn't work.

If fans picked the team we'd be in the ryman pencils bic north divison 9.
