What exactly does this guy have to do to get a bloody game ? When I hear fans say that he is rubbish it baffles me.

Kevin Davies playing week in and week out and yet a mobile active forward like Tuncay is sat warming his buttocks on the bench. Why bring the player on loan if you are not going to play him ?

Perhaps he didn't get played so he wouldn't get cup tied, on order that we can end his loan with us and send him to another team via his 'home' club in Germany?

Knowing our luck he will end up scoring the goal against us that will send us down!

It does seem rather odd 'paying' for a loan player (whilst we have so much debt) and not playing him?

Coyle out!

I don't get it either. And I don't get the people who do get it. "He's looked off the pace" they tell me.

Right, lets just stick with Davies then...

I'm not saying we should stick with KD, but Tuncay has been bobbins during his limited appearances.

I think yesterday would have been the ideal time to give Tuncay a proper run out and get his confidence up. Granted he has not done much on the pitch for us so far but chances have been limited. Davies is unlikely to make an impact any more this season so why give him game time? At least Tuncay runs his balls off and could have the potential for a good second half of the season.

Anybody that thinks he's that bad that he doesn't warrant getting a run out against Macclesfield is on another planet.

We're talking about a player who's been a class act in his time and isn't yet 30. In his first season at Boro, the fans would sing "We've only got one player" in his favour. Everywhere he's been, he's had a reputation for working his socks off and hasn't looked reluctant to get stuck in when playing for us except when playing on the right where he couldn't look more out of place.

Another missed opportunity today. What is the point of bringing him on with only a short time to go ?

Perhaps Coyle is saving him for Macclesfield in the cup ?

The second goal went in on 74 minutes. What was there to lose in bringing him on at that point? He eventually came on with 2 minutes to go.

I just hope that he does a little more when he does get his chance. On the few occasions we got the ball in an advanced position yesterday we were crying out for a bit of quality - like that through ball from Carrick - but it didn't come - Eagles and Petrov being the most wasteful. Maybe Tuncay could provide that for us, but he hasn't shown that much since he arrived. I live in hope.

He hasn't shown that much because he hasn't been given a proper chance. Apart from Macclesfield at the Reebok he has been limited to cameo roles. What was the point of his two minutes on the pitch at Old Trafford yesterday ? It's not long enough to boil an egg ffs.

Exactly - so I'm guessing his 2 minute appearances (particularly when the match is already lost (or win) is more to do with money than anything else - perhaps he gets an appearance bonus - and Coyle is just keeping him sweet.

Probably applies to a great many other nonsensical substitutions up and down the country too.

I think Tuncay has been unlucky to be honest to not start games up front for the following reasons: -

- Davies (club captain)
- N'gog (record signing this summer)
- Klasnic (started the season very well scoring a few goals)

When he started on the right wing after the Macc game in the league cup you could see he was lacking match fitness and was in an uncomfortable position.

I think if he was given a run in the team we would see his best but I can't see it personally, will probably go back to Germany in the summer.

I'm not sure but I read somewhere that the club had agreed an up front payment to Wolfsburg, near enough to £1m as part of the deal for him to join us on loan for a season with a view to paying an additional amount at the end of the season to make the deal permanent. If that's true, it will have cost the club £1m+/- to have him at the club this season alone, warming the bench, on top of his wages which can't be cheap.

It probably is true - or something like that anyway.

The way 'loans' from non British clubs works is that we 'buy' the players registration for an agreed period (half or full season) - then after that time is up the registration goes back to the original club - think of it as a short term 'transfer' rather than a loan because a 'fee' is involved.

In theory there is no limit how many non British club players we can 'loan' - just as long as we pay the 'fee' for the 'loan' arrangement - if you understand what I'm trying to say.

There is no 'fee' involved between British clubs for loan players - but clubs are limited to the equivalent of just two for a full season.

Tuncay got his ninety minute call up again today. He spends more time warming up than he does on the pitch. I cannot understand why Coyle brought him here in the first place.

It makes no sense that when he gets a proper chance (i.e. a full game) it's in the wrong position and when he's played in the right position, it's not been a proper chance (i.e. the last 5 minutes of matches).

What are you playing at Coyle?

FWIW we might as well get shut of him because he clearly doesn't figure in Coyles long term plans. How much is it costing in weekly wages for him to warm his piles on the bench and sprint up and down the sidelines?

I could do his job at half the price.
