Wheater's still only 26 and I think he could still be a decent player for us particularly at this level. Loaning him out for the rest of the season where he could get regular games would be ideal IMO, give him a chance to prove he can get back to some sort of form.

i also think that Craig Davies deserves more of a chance before we let him go, let Ngog go first if any striker is going.

It's looking like from our end that we want this to happen.

I wouldn't be disappointed if it did.

FWIW I don't think you or the Burnley fans will be disappointed. Craig Davies hasn't had enough opportunities to shine at Bolton. He was always down the pecking order behind Ngog and Sordell and the signing of Beckford didn't help him to shine either.

He's a likeable guy and he always gives it all. Not the most technically gifted of strikers but if he gets regular football he will do well in the Championship. Big and strong and hard to knock off the ball, I'll be sorry to see him go.

I quite enjoy Davies when he gets a chance, I'd probably give him more of a run than N'gog because he's got the attributes to be effective at this level.

Think he needs to be playing every week and the 'main man' to be successful though, doubt he's happy being on the bench.

Davies hasn't been given a chance to shine at Bolton, we shouldn't be letting him go while we've still got slackers like N'gog stealing a fortune in wages every week. Pound to a penny he does the business for Burnley. Sometimes (quite often actually) I worry about Dougie.

Is Davies injured (nowt serious like) at the moment?

I agree. All he needs is a decent run with a few games under his belt and he will show his worth. We paid a few bob for Ngog and Beckford and that is why Davies isn't getting a look-in. Mind you, I was always confident Beckford would do the business once he broke his duck and Dougie cant drop him because he is scoring goals.

If we do offload Davies then I wish him all the best because he deserves a chance.

PS. He's a decent guy with the fans as well. Last season after the Cardiff away game we bumped into him at a motorway services in the midlands. He came over and had a chat with us and had his photo taken with a number of supporters.

He's allegedly had a minor calf/thigh strain for a number of weeks. Personally, I think it's just a smoke screen to hide the fact that the management seem to be duty bound to play the high earners like Ngog and Beckford.

If he does go to Turf Moor there will be quite a few Wanderers fans gnashing their teeth.

Tyrone Mears had a mystery virus which lasted for months!

My thoughts exactly. I think he will score wherever he goes providing the manager gives him a few games to get to know the players. With the likes of Ings and Vokes he will do okay at Burnley.

If Freedman lets Davies go to Burnley it's just another nail in his coffin as far as I'm concerned.

I agree that it could backfire. Sean Dyche is no mug. All managers make mistakes. The Special One at Chelsea must have a blind spot if he can't see the potential in Romanu Lukaku.

Cracking Gif btw. Laughing
