For those of you who have two dogs when one dies do you think its a good thing to let the other one see and smell its dead companion.
Is it going to help it understand whats happened rather than wonder where it is?

You should do yes. Its going to grieve anyway. May as well help it understand.

No need to rub it in. Sorry to hear that. Its not nice, my 18 year old dog just died a couple of weeks ago. Then grandad went last week.

Don't let it go too far, don't let it suffer.

Anyway he's a collie springer x 12 yrs with a tail that never stops he's called cartman a real sweetheart and the other is a bishon frise 3 yrs that has grown up and worships him she's a real tom boy and they play fight and sleep together she will be devastated she copies everything he does. I'm at a loss on this one.

Oh dear. Sounds like a hard one. I think my two at the moment would really miss each other too if one went. I certainly think it makes sense to let her see it. Have U asked a vet? Consider getting a third dog soon. The 3yrs girl will assume the adult role if you get a youngish rescue dog.

It needs some thinking about.... also i had him insured for £7500 which with the treatment has run out now so its costing around £1300 a month but he's enjoying life at the moment you would'nt think there was anything wrong with him .

Sad day for me yesterday, remembering that our beloved Springer Spaniel died 12 years ago to the day.

Still cuts me up, and I've never been tempted to get another dog.

I still walk for miles, but walking has never felt the same. Having always had a dog since the age of 5, am I being overly sentimental?

I've lost dogs before, but this one finished me for one reason or another.
