Manager Dougie Freedman says a fantastic team spirit has been an integral part of Wanderers’ recent success.

With only a handful of long-term injuries, the Scot can take 19 of his 20-man squad to Middlesbrough tomorrow, with the other one – Mark Davies – not far away from a first-team return either.

He knows that means some tough selection calls but has praised the professionalism of those out of the team, like club captain Zat Knight, in ensuring everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet.

Freedman said: “We are fully fit in terms of those who had niggles.

“Craig Davies had a small back problem, which affected his hamstring, but he’s been running round so is fit. David Wheater has trained all week as has Josh Vela.

“As I speak, we have 19 of a current 20-man squad fit with Mark Davies the 20th and we hope to get him into a reserve game next week.

“But those who don’t play are just as important. Off the pitch everyone is pulling together.

“The likes of Zat Knight have been good for the players on the field, even though he hasn’t been playing.

“There is a real good feel at the place, with everybody chipping in and encouraging.

“Some players will get the headlines, like Jermaine, for example, for his goals, but behind the scenes the Knights and Darren Pratleys are a great support to the others.

"The way they conduct themselves in training is superb; they understand it is about the whole group over the season.”
