Dropping like flies in the last few days.

Not enough Udinese loans this season to help Watford get into the Play Offs.

So which Wop is up next then at Watford?

Fair play to Zola, he didn't hang around for the big pay-off, he just resigned.

Dougie, Coyle & Megson should take note.

I've always liked Zola but I think that he's probably too nice of a chap to be a manager, well a successfull one anyway.

The amount of managers that are getting sacked makes you wonder if there are any good ones.
Maybe there's a lot of good ones and the real problem is that every fan in the country thinks they could do a better job.

I dunno.

I'm guessing he's resigned to put himself in the shop window for a bigger job...maybe

because of the pressures involved in getting to the Champions league like Tottenham, staying in the Premiership like West Brom or getting to the Premiership like Watford, Chairmen and owners aren't prepared to let a manager have a long term plan anymore, it's all abput the here and now and instant results. Big Sam will be the next to go i reckon,

I'm thinking of putting a few quid on Benitez becoming the next Spurs manager, just after a few rumours I heard today.

He is doing well at Napoli at the moment...... and as for Zola, she was gone the minute she tripped up Mary Decker. the yanks have never forgiven her for that.

So they've got their Eyetie in.

How long are we giving Giuseppe Sannino then?

Will they ever learn. Another manager with no experience of English football.

I'll give it until March.

I dunno.

Once the players are on the pitch there's not a lot of influence a manager can have. Add to that the meddling in the transfer market that some Chairmen/Boards get involved in plus budgetary controls and self-imposed spending/salary caps. Plus players making individual errors.

It all adds up to managers not having full control over the team so I reckon that managers carry a disproportionate amount of blame when results aren't going the right way.
Dougie for example is under the cosh for recent results and whilst I accept that the manager should take overall responsibility there's not much he could do about the individual errors that cost us the Wigan game.

Managers carry the can for the collective failings of the club even if they can't control all of the variables - which is basically unfair.

However, the Chairman/Board won't sack themselves and the players get away with blue murder as long as the are viewed to be a saleable asset. Managers are an easy target.
