Good I'm glad that documentary has helped you see the light.

It'd be shame to go back to your old ways

Fair enough, but given that we are dealing with a private company (the PL) which is incredibly rich, ie no impact upon the public purse, even if it saves one life, it is worth doing. Who wants to see what happened at the weekend happen again if there's even a slight chance it can be stopped?

That's true I guess, but once again it'll only be the big boys who will be able to afford this sort of screening - I can't see the likes of Bury, Scunthorpe & Portsmouth being able to shell out for this expensive screening.

I appreciate that I don't know how much such a screening costs, but you, and Mother Teresa Whittam of Morecambe, did say "one in the PL in 20 years" and I'm talking about preventing that one. It has happened more recently in the lower leagues than once in 20 years.

Marc Vivian Foe collapsed with the same condition. It has certainly happened quite a few times in Basketball. Didn't Kevin Penney of Manchester Giants die in a similar fashion?

Hang on a minute.
A guy in front of me had a heart attack a couple of years ago in the crowd. Shall we screen all the fans too? Don't you get what a knee jerk reaction it is?
Oh and I was witness to a woman having an epileptic fit in a supermarket, let's screen all shoppers too.

I'm not saying they can't do it if they wish to do. I just think two screenings per year is an overreaction and a disproportionate one.

I saw a street vendor having an epileptic fit yesterday - creepy.

I think it's more to do with the increased risk stat that was presented immediately after Jayjay.

I can't bring it to mind but it was a fairly alarming stat.

Obviously you can't screen everyone, but those in a high risk job, why not.

It seems to me you're not against the screenings, you just have doubts as to whether they are necessary or practical.

You can do what you like with your shoppers, I know you're being facetious, but Muamba has been screened 4 times in his career, maybe if he had been screened 8 times a problem would have been detected. You can come up with as many irrelevant and facetious examples as you like for all I care. If the clubs can afford to do it, and want to do it, they should do it.

Precisely. If the clubs want to do it then that is fine.
However - it should not be a rule!
To make it a rule would be an overreaction because of a recent emotive event.
Clubs are welcome to do it. They can do it twice per week for all I care.

My point was not really about whether or not they should do this sort of testing twice a year but more about people's overreactions to over hyped events.
