Manager Dougie Freedman hopes to hand loan striker Lukas Jutkiewicz his Wanderers debut at QPR tonight, provided his registration is completed in time.

Freedman made his move for a player he has long admired yesterday and confirmed a deal with the 24-year-old’s parent-club Middlesbrough was “95 per cent” done at his pre-match press conference.

And while it would be throwing the former Everton man in at the deep end should he figure tonight, the Scot has no qualms about involving Jutkiewicz if he is available.

David Ngog’s departure to Swansea City on a permanent deal was rubber-stamped yesterday leaving Freedman with just Craig Davies as an option up front before Jutkiewicz’s arrival.

Ngog played 91 times and scored 16 goals after joining from Liverpool in 2011 for £4million.

Freedman told The Bolton News: “Jutkiewicz is someone I have admired for a while.

“I have known him since he was a young player at Everton so I have known about him for a long time.

“I’ve always felt if he was to find the right club and get the right kind of service, he can be one of the top strikers in this division.

“The rush is not for the QPR game. I am a big believer in slowly bedding players in but with the pedigree and experience he has, then I would not hesitate to involve him.

“It would be nice to have some support in there alongside Craig Davies.

“I thought he did well on Saturday after being out a long time.

“He’s a player I brought here and he needs a run of games – that’s his problem.

“If he does and stays fit, he can do well for us like he showed on Saturday.”

Freedman is still hopeful of more transfer business before the window closes at 11pm on Friday and another forward could be added, as well as some defensive cover.

The Scot knows he needs reinforcements at the back but believes extra firepower, with Jermaine Beckford currently sidelined, is just as important.

He added: “You look at QPR and Charlie Austin. He has scored important goals for them at crucial times.

“It is pretty much the difference.

“We need to get a bit more firepower in.

“You get one goalscorer in and you are up there, two and you are right in the mix.

“Hopefully, the addition of Lukas and maybe another striker will help us in the second half of the season.

“We are looking for cover at the back as well and have identified who we would like and it is a waiting game now.

“Everyone knows the financial situation where we can’t just go out and spend but we want the right types to come in if possible.”

Freedman has no new injury concerns ahead of tonight’s Loftus Road clash and confirmed Mark Davies will return after being rested at the weekend.

Fuck off Freedman, we all know you will play for a 0-0. There is no chance this new ponce will start.

I haven't got much confidence in this lad but the saving grace is that it's a loan deal. He may turn out well but I'll need some convincing.

This one still isn't done yet mate. it's been at 95% for a full day now, I'm beginning to smell a rat. Paperwork shouldn't be taking this long.  That said I'm not exactly brimming with joy that this is one dougie's top targets to begin with.

Nixon?  Laughing You believe Alan Nixon?  Very Happy  Mate if he says it's Tuesday today I want a look at the calendar.  Smile

In all seriousness though there's no confirmation on Sky, BBC, Boro's site OR BWFC's site. How long ago did Nixon say it's done? If in the last few minutes then fine he may be right and they're just prepping the official statement.

He never confirms it unless he's certain, he'd look stupid otherwise. Jutkiewicz will be on the bench atleast. Trust me  bom

@OfficialBWFC: Deal complete. Lukas Jutkiewicz joins #BWFC on loan from @Boro for the remainder of the season.

@OfficialBWFC: Lukas will wear shirt number 29 and he is eligible to play in tonight's game.

Thanks boggers. Well that completes the bet and you won so my "exile" will begin on Saturday.  Laughing

Hopefully this Jutkiewicz will give us all something to cheer about but I'm not holding my breath. Are we in for anyone else other than Dawson? God knows we need more than a striker who's only found the net twice in his last twenty four outings to try and stop the rot.

Our targets are dawson, mcnaughton and mason apparently Lp

All guys we've had before who did quite well apart from Mason who I really don't rate. It's a rare-ish occasion but I'm with Natasha on him, he might be ok with two up front but given Dougie's preferred "system" he'll do nothing here. It's not writing him off, just an opinion based on past performances. McNaughton and Dawson I like, I don't think we'll get Dawson as so many other clubs want him and we can't afford a bidding war for a loan player although he says he wants to come back here which is nice. McNaughton I honestly don't know about. Are we in with a realistic shout of getting him?

Can any of them play left back?

LPP what 'exile'?

We don't want you, Boogers, or anyone else leaving our forum.

If you do, we will send Natasha to come and find you.

Capisce!

proper left and right backs would be nice instead of centre halves filling in. It's already been said on here many times about Mason that he's not suited to our style of play but our tactical genius thinks otherwise.

McNaughton played left back for Cardiff on Saturday. If we can bring McNaughton in, I'd imagine Baptiste would play right back and McNaughton left back.

Well two out of three good ones in that group.  Still do not see what he sees in Mason, but he has proven us all wrong before... multiple times.  Let's hope he does that again and we get on a good run.

For what it's worth, you should take your "exile" during a cup week!

I agree. I'm going to miss LPP's observations!

As for Mason I think he's a non-starter. Bournemouth increased his price to £2 million which we baulked at. It looks they are holding out for £1.5 million which is still too much in my opinion.
