Dougie Freedman finds himself in a rare position planning for tomorrow’s crunch clash with Yeovil as his training ground casualty list suddenly started to clear up.
Mark Davies, Jermaine Beckford, Matt Mills and Andy Lonergan will all be included in the squad for the club’s first league trip to Huish Park.
Chris Eagles has also recovered from an eye infection, although Freedman confirmed at his press conference yesterday the midfielder is at least a week to 10 days away from being in contention for a return to the team.
A sickness bug has hampered preparations for the last couple of games at Derby and at home to Brighton but Freedman refused to use it as an excuse for a dip in form that has made fans start to stare anxiously over their shoulders at the bottom three once again.
Wanderers hold an eight-point advantage over Millwall in 22nd position, and a further two on tomorrow’s opponents Yeovil, fresh from their thrilling 3-3 draw at Wigan in midweek.
And Freedman is calling for rapid improvement from his side after last weekend’s defeat derailed the progress they had been making.
“I don’t use the word frustrating all that often, but it applies when you see we’ve hammered Leeds and put four past Blackburn and we’re thinking ‘yep, we’re ready to go’ and then all of a sudden we’re not getting the results. It is a little bit frustrating,” he told The Bolton News.
“We’ve got players back now, and that definitely helps.
“The sickness bug was difficult because it came right out of the blue. Young Joe Mason had it at Derby and it didn’t seem to harm us too much but by the time the Brighton game came around I think it showed.
“We definitely missed Mark Davies, with the form he’s been in, but no excuses, we definitely had enough chances to win the game. We can’t blame sickness bugs for what happened.
“Now we need to get back on track. And to win at Yeovil we will have to be at our very best.”
