Huddersfield Town have James Vaughan back in contention for Saturday’s home game with Wanderers.

The Terriers’ top scorer returned to training after missing Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Reading because of illness.

Vaughan has scored 12 goals this season and is well-known to Dougie Freedman, who managed the former Everton striker during his time at Crystal Palace.

Wales defender Joel Lynch is also in the frame after returning from a long-term groin injury.

Huddersfield boss Mark Robins is keen to keep performance levels up after successive draws against Reading and Middlesbrough.

“There were a lot of good things in our performance at Reading – but then I thought we were decent against Middlesbrough last week as well,” said the former Manchester United striker.

“The only thing which left a slight bit of negativity against Boro was the manner of their goals, because we gifted them the opportunities. If we hadn’t, they wouldn’t have scored and we would have won.

“Then you look at Boro’s result at the weekend, when they won at Brighton, and it puts things in perspective.

“We then go down to Reading and there were a lot of good performances and, again, we should have won.

“To perform so well against a top-six side away from home was a positive, but we are a capable side and now the aim is to keep the positive performances going.”

One of the top 3 strikers in this league when he's fit. Would have been an England regular had it not need for injuries.

Not even slightly joking, excellent player. Fact you haven't heard of him confirms my suspicions about you.

Vaughn's very good. Started at Everton and has always know where the goal is. Major threat.

Thought you supported all the teams we play against? Plus Chorley.
