Who are we more worried about, the authorities having data about us, or the likes of Google, Twitter, etc., who not only gather it on a world-wide scale, but use it to target you specifically. Something you haven't asked for, or given permission for. Oh, just a minute, you have given permission, because its a part of the agreement you agree to when downloading the app. Lets not forget that all this information can be picked up by almost anyone, and its how its used that's the big problem.
I don't like the idea of Big Brother, but the information is more likely to be used in your interest than by the likes of Google. who don't have to be hacked, they sell the information.
