Dougie Freedman says there will be no easing off the gas as Wanderers travel to Sheffield Wednesday for their penultimate game of the season.

Bolton are unbeaten in their last seven league outings on the road.

And following a midweek home defeat at the hands of now league champions Leicester City, Freedman is keen for his side to end the season with back-to-back victories.

“We’re not looking into what Sheffield Wednesday have done for the majority of this season,” Freedman said. “We’ve focussed on their last four or five games and their style of play.

“We’ve analysed what they do and there’s been no cutting corners from our point, despite it being one of our last couple of games.

“We want to win and we want to be known as winners.”

Wanderers are set to be without several first team players for the trip to the Steel City.

Medo Kamara (stomach infection), Andre Moritz (hamstring) and Alan Hutton (knee) will all definitely miss the game, whilst Mark Davies continues to step up his fitness work following an injury layoff.

Stuart Holden, Joe Riley (both knee), Marc Tierney (leg) and Darren Pratley shoulder remain long-term absentees.

“The injuries have hit us right now, but it gives us the opportunity to get one or two young players hopefully on the bench and possibly on the pitch again,” the manager added.

“We’ve gone from having a very strong squad and bench to being right down to the bare bones.

“If we go back a couple of weeks we were in a really good position squad-wise, though we’ve since had that torn apart a little by the injuries.”
