Passed away today from pneumonia aged 71. A great actor and decent bloke in real life by all accounts. His character in Long Good Friday is unforgettable.

One of the finest pieces of acting I have ever seen.
You can see Harold processing what's gone on and weighing up his options, before giving up.
And all done without saying a word.
Absolutely brilliant work.

Great actor - did his best work in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". That Jessica Rabbit, though...

Shamefully, the only film I've seen him in is Hook, but been meaning to watch The Long Good Friday for a while. Have to make sure I do soon.

Sorry for spoiling the ending for you, Doff.
It's still a brilliant film though and you should watch it as soon as you get chance.
The Mafia....? I've shit 'em!

Never liked the ending and always thought a follow up should have been done and that looks like a young pierce Brosnan in the front seat.
