It would seem the dimpled pint pot is making a comeback. Quite a few pubs now have reverted to the old dimpled glass and they seem to have caught on with the younger end of the market. For myself,I like my beer from a straight glass, and I can't see the old dimpled pot making a serious return to the modern pub. Any of you lot prefer them?

They're certainly handier in a ruck.

They are much easier to deal with in a ruck.

I love them, I have one at home for my bottles of real ale.

If I have the option of using one in a pub, that would be great.

Is that supposed to be funny? And I'd love to know why I'm the target of abuse, genuinely?

It was purely an extension of the gag about prostitutes, brazil nuts and your being threatened with a ban for talking about it.

If I've offended you, I apologise unreservedly.

Yes breaders i would rather someone have a dimpled mug in his hand than a straight glass, easier to deal with and stronger less likely to break and fuck it a straight thin glass is a much more dangerous weapon.

Straight glasses are easier to ship, stack, store and wash so I'm not sure how many modern pubs would be eager to get them.
That said, they're easier to nick too.

Straight glass for me.

Back in the day I even used to hold the dimple glasses like a straight glass anyway - never by the handle.

You crazy, non-conformist bastard!

I bet you kept fireworks in your pocket, instead of a suitable container with a proper lid as well, didn't you....?

I'm a straight glass man. However John Willie Lees do a glass with indents for your fingers, these are quite useful for hanging on to your ale when you've had a few!

My big brother always had the fireworks, I was too busy making money from the 'penny for the guy'!
