Kevin Davies has pencilled-in August 2015 with Wanderers as the provisional date for his long-awaited testimonial.
The former Whites skipper, who left the club last summer after making 385 appearances in 10 years, has held talks with chairman Phil Gartside over a benefit game to mark his time at the Reebok.
Davies will be hoping to fire Preston North End into the Championships this summer and has another year remaining on his contract at Deepdale.
The former England international is now planning to bring back a host of star names from his time at Bolton, including Stelios and Ivan Campo, for a showpiece game next summer.
Davies tweeted this afternoon: "Ball has been set rolling regarding my BWFC Testimonial today. Possible date will be August 2015. Plenty of time to prepare."
