I like a spot of Egg Chasing, always have.

Did anybody else go to this game?

I stood on the Manny Rd terrace that day.

My abiding memory is of Wigan Full-Back Steve Hampson nailing somebody at full pace right in front of me and both players hammering into the railings then just getting up and carrying on with the game.

Proper hard men.

Remember this game well. I was just about to move to Warrington so I thought I'd check the game out. Proper hard men is right. Check out these aussie rules nutters.

To keep a brawl going for that length of time takes the type of real effort and commitment so lacking in modern footballers.

Impressive stuff.

I was recently talking to someone who's a Salford rugby club fanatic and he was telling me about the cup final back in 1969 against Castleford when one of their players got smacked in the face straight from kick-off. You can see it here at the top of the screen - it's only about 4 seconds into the video.
