Formula 1

I don't know if there are many enthusiasts on here but this season is looking to be a very interesting one.

Ross Brawn has got the Mercedes Team performing at their peak and McLaren with Hamilton and Button are back to their best.

The Renault engine of Red Bull is not firing on all cylinders and Vettel never even made the top ten in qualifying for the Grand Prix in China tomorrow.

The race is on BBC1 at 6am in the morning and I fancy Hamilton and Button to finish in the top three.

I have a close friend who is crazy about F1 and tries very hard to get me into it each season. And then I watch a race.

He made me watch the launch of the Sky F1 channel. I watched it for a couple of years in the late 1990s but only casually. I just can't get into it.

Then there's Nascar. Watching a load of cars go round an oval circuit 500 times. The Americans go crazy for it. Staggering. I used to think maybe you have to be a bit of a motoring enthusiast to get into F1, but my mate doesn't even drive.

Give me a bit of Le Tour de France anyday of the week. I can cheerfully sit watching the peloton cycling through the French countryside for hours, even when nothing happens until the last 10 miles.

Sluffy loves his cycling. Personally, I can't take to Nascar or the Indianapolis 500. Going round and round on an oval circuit does my head in.

Apart from Football, Horse racing, Golf and Formula 1 the only other sport I enjoy is UFC.

P.S. I'm not a big fan of tennis but I do watch Wimbledon.

My brother lives and breathes F1. He's a McLaren fan, has been invited to their factory, offices, etc., a few times, and I was surprised to see him on the tv at one of the earlier races, walking amongst the team staff in one of the VIP areas. (It doesn't stop him being a little shit that I still don't talk to .)

It's looking grim in Bahrain. A protester has been killed by riot police. Expect trouble tomorrow.

Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton on becoming the Formula One World Champion in Abu Dhabi. The first Mercedes winner since Fangio. Makes you proud to be English. 

I just can't warm to Hamilton.

He's a brilliant driver, don't get me wrong, but there's just something about him that puts me off him.

He got stick for moving to Switzerland but you can't fault his driving. What a talent.

Talented,but he leaves me cold.
And he should give up trying to look 'cool' with his stupid hats,and oversized gold medallions,it just doesn't suit him.

He is a top driver. The car is almost as important as the driver though. Mercedes gave him an amazing car. Rosberg challenging for his first title proves that and Red Bull weren't a patch on what they were last year. Vettel is a good driver also but take away the great car they had last year and he's nowhere to be seen. Take nothing away from Lewis though. To have an English winner is great and he deserves it.
