Dead right but I think he'd do well to find a decent striker with such a low budget especially at this time of the year when there's usually a scramble to pick up anyone.
It seems as if every player Dougie has scouted makes the media and as soon as that happens we are financially outmuscled by other clubs for their services. Fair enough I suppose - we've done it to other clubs for years.

We'll get a striker on loan where there is no transfer fee and the 'Big boys' have decided who is surplus to there immediate requirements.

I can't tell if you're joking or not. How does praising Davies prove anything?

I can't speak for HP, but I don't think he's joking because I thought  exactly the same thing yesterday, when I read DF's comments in the BN.

Despite the fact that he obviously either decided that Davies wasn't good enough or he had a falling out with him and fucked him off to PNE and then spent the rest of the season trying to offload him, now Douglas has realised that there's no money to buy anybody else, he's trying to convince us all that Craig Davies is the man to fire us to promotion this season.

We're not stupid, Douglas (well...not all of us) and this shallow piece of PR nonsense ain't fooling us.

You think he's not good enough, you've even had another pop at his attitude in training in this latest piece and yet you think we'll blindly swallow the idea that you suddenly rate him........

Pull the other one, mate.....

I'm sure there will be other targets, but once again this shows what a pisspoor manager Freedman is - last season he's slagging off Cavies and loaning him out to PNE, but now he's having to eat humble pie in case he's left it too late to find a striker.

I hope Cavies scores 45 goals and then signs for Chorley.

If Dougie gets his striker targets I imagine he'll sell Cavies asap because he just isn't good enough.

Either way it's a good move by Dougie to big the guy up. Perform better if we're stuck with him, hike the price if we can get rid.

Good management in anyone's book.

I don't think it's a case of leaving it too late. Juke was our number one target we had to wait to see what happened with him before bidding for others surely even you can see that's just common sense with our budget. He's said he's got a plan b and he's shown to be shrewd in the transfer market before so now we'll see what that is. In part that means keeping Cravies who you'd imagine has a point to prove.

Seriously, you need to take a rest from the happy clapping or you might get blisters.

Even if he signed a forward TODAY, he'd have missed out on a chuck of pre-season and valuable time to get to know his team-mates.

As I've said all along, Freedman will sign someone, but he'll spend the first month on the bench "getting match fit".

Surely you agree it's better for any team to have it's team sorted by the time pre-season games start?

You've completely ignored the point that we couldn't afford to waste money on another striker whilst Juke was still available? Do you disagree with that?

You're right and "Nat"'s wrong but in being forced to wait until money was made available and given that Juke was first choice I don't think we'll be getting a world beater any time soon unless it's a loaner.

You can target as many players as you want, agree terms, even have medicals, but until the club signs on that dotted line they aren't obliged to sign anyone.

Freedman should have one or two strikers at an advanced stage of negotiation purely as a fall back for his main target fooking off to Burnley. But I'll bet you he hasn't.

If we can't sign a player we know is good for us, who wants to come here and only costs £1.5 mill, what the fuck are we going to get using plan B or C
If we are going for a loan striker it'll be at the end of the loan window, we'll be out of the promotion race by then and last season's shit start will look like
a high point.

The highlights of the Mjallby game showed Feeney in a different role playing with much more freedom rather than being isolated on the wing with nobody to cross to. Seems he'll be alternating between playing wide and a traditional inside right role. Anybody see the game in full who could comment on the the team's first outing?

If he's giving the wingers more of a free role it sounds like he's trying to get us to play the way Palace did so effectively under him. Bolasie and Zaha were excellent, and whilst I don't think Feeney and Hall are quite at that level I definitely think they're good enough to cause a lot of teams problems.

I wish we could add a good striker because it does feel like the teams far more balanced to me.
