Blackpool - a team with no players!

Well only 8 actually!

27 have left since the end of last season including Barry Ferguson, goalkeeper Matt Gilks (Burnley), Ricardo Fuller (Millwall Free), Chris Basham (Sheffield United), Michael Chopra, Robert Earnshaw, Nathan Tyson and Tony Warner.

Thet have no goalkeeper, only one midfielder and had to cancel their pre-season tour because they can't field a side!

On a positive note though, they are not £165 million in debt!

I had to laugh when I heard their new manager Jose Riga telling the fans on the news tonight that they'd still be "competitive" in the league this season .

Presumably, that'd be the Poulton & District 7 A-Side League then, would it Jose.....?

I feel abit sorry for them for being in that situation, good old Northern club in the shit.

If they can afford to release Rob Earnshaw they must have lined up Bale, Ronaldo & Messi to come in by 9th August.

they couldn't afford his wages, Blackpool have always been at the lower end of the wage scale. I remember reading something about it when Holloway was in charge, the highest wage earner at the time was on 5k a week and they wouldn't go any higher than that, and that was when they had been promoted!

The Oystons probably trousered most of the money they made when Blackpool got into the Prem. Karl may be the Chairman but you can bet Odious Owen is pulling the strings.

Almost - except they don't have the red white and blue nor the roar of the great lion on their shirt! 

Surely there must be a rule that states they can't register a side in the league with so few players.

Riga is going to be a busy boy before August 9th.
