TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson said he has "let down" his family after being cautioned by police for shoplifting and said he will "seek treatment".

Police arrested the 60-year-old at the Tesco store in Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on Friday.

Worrall Thompson, from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, was questioned and given a formal caution.

He apologised for his "stupid and irresponsible actions" and said he hoped he could "make amends".

He is on his third wife and due to finances his restaurant chain went belly up and he had to move out of his £1.8 million country mansion. He has been living on nothing but cheese since Christmas.

His wife is said to be really upset at the news. It's not because he was stealing but because he got caught stealing. The greedy bastard only treated her to one portion of Welsh rarebit so when she found out he had been giving it large on five separate occasions she kicked up a right stink.
Imagine the conversation in the Tombsone household at bedtime.

Mrs T, ' Have you been eating cheese, darling ?'
Mr T, ' No dear.'
Mrs T, ' Well I can smell Edam.'
Mr T, ' I'll change my socks and wash my feet tomorrow.'
Mrs T, ' OK dearest.'

It's only a matter of time before Endemol come up with a TV show called Big Brother Celebrity Chancers. Stuart Hall, Richard Madeley, Worrall-Tombstone, Winona Ryder, Elliott Morley, David Chater, etc etc. We just need a decent looking bird with big knockers to get her collar felt for pilfering balloons and we have another TV success story.

P.S. Does Jacqui Smith fit the bill ? She could bring a few mucky DVD's from her husbands collection.

Worrall-Thompson caught stealing cheese. Dairy me!

When asked how he felt about stealing cheese, he replied, " It wasn't very mature."

The guy has no shame. He is now advertising tea for Tesco.

Did anyone see him on that talk show talking about how this is all to do with sexual abuse.

I've committed petty theft a countless number of times over the years. I've always been able to justify it to myself by thinking, 'supermarkets are rich, I'm poor'. Obviously the key difference here is Anthony Worrall Thompson not being poor. It has to be to do with thrill seeking but he is a 60 year old man for God sake.

What is it with these chefs ? They seem to think because they can cook a pan full of shite that only their mates can eat, that it makes them celebrities.

That Gino De Campo got sent to prison for Burglary before he became a chef and Heston Bloomingthrall was a debt collector.

There's no likeable TV chefs - except maybe Nigella. A lot of them forget how not that important their job is. They're cooking a meal at the end of the day, but in their head it's some kind of military operation.

I hate them all.

Me too but I do like Ramsays Kitchen nightmares series.

There are a few likable chefs. My boy Tom Kitchin is one of them. Check his place out in Edinburgh, vey nice.

The only ''celeb chefs'' that I think are decent are the hairy bikers, not up there own arse either.

I reckon Nigella scoffs most of her own creations. no wonder her kids are so bloody thin.
