Jay Spearing says he and his Bolton team-mates must put Tuesday evening’s game against Middlesbrough behind them immediately.
On a night which saw Craig Davies open the scoring for the Whites from the spot, a Grant Leadbitter penalty and a late strike from Kike saw the visitors run out winners at Macron Stadium.
And with a trip to face Brighton at the Amex Stadium next on the agenda for the Trotters, skipper Spearing reiterated the need for Wanderers to bounce back on the south coast.
“It was a very disappointing night,” said Spearing following the final whistle. “We’re not happy with the way it went for us – we got ourselves in front and we’ve given two sloppy goals away, but we’ve only ourselves to blame.
“We have got to pick ourselves up – we’re three games in, but we’ve got to get our heads up and keep going and keep fighting.
“There’s 43 games left and we will kick on at some point, but that needs to be sooner rather than later.
“We’ve got another game on Saturday away at Brighton which is going to be difficult, but we need to go there, kick on and move on now.
“Us going in front and losing the lead is something that we’ve done the past few games now and it’s something that we’re not happy with – we feel as if we’re giving away silly goals and it’s something that we need to improve on.
“We do all the hard work to get ourselves in front and we seem to be just blowing it at the moment which is something that we need to address on the field.
“We’re all going to be working on it though, from the players to the gaffer, and moving onto Saturday.”
