HAYDEN White hopes to use his experience in “real football” with Carlisle United to help earn him a regular spot at Wanderers.

The young full-back swapped a place in the mix of Dougie Freedman’s squad for a spell at the foot of the Football League last week.

White had featured on three occasions this season and was captain of the development squad on his last outing but his desire for more experience led him to accept the offer of a stint of League Two football in Cumbria.

Carlisle were managerless when the teenager arrived but are now led by ex-England international Keith Curle.

“It’s the getting out and being involved in real football,” White said. “There’s also the challenge of how they are doing in the league, and a big chance for me to show everyone what I can do.”

The former Sheffield Wednesday trainee joined Wanderers for £100,000 last summer but could eventually cost £500,000 if he makes the grade.

White lines up against Tranmere Rovers at Brunton Park today but is still eyeing up a bright future under Dougie Freedman.

“Moving to Bolton was a dream come true for me,” he told the News and Star newspaper in Carlisle.

“The manager has shown a lot of faith in me. As my parent club I do want to play first-team football there. It’s something I’m hoping I’ll be able to do.

“It was difficult at the start [at Bolton] but the manager and the Under-21s manager kept pushing me on. Then this opportunity came and it was definitely one I had to take.”

Forget it Hayden, you're where you'll spend most of your Bolton career mate. ie not here. Dougie's development masterplan strikes again.
