Kevin McNaughton called for Wanderers to put Saturday’s defeat to Derby County behind them as quickly as possible.

The defender, who made his return from injury having not featured for the Whites’ since the clash with Middlesbrough on August 19, took his place amongst the Bolton backline for the visit of the Rams.

With Chris Martin’s brace ensuring that Wanderers left the game empty handed however, the Scot called for his teammates to not allow themselves to dwell on a frustrating afternoon at Macron Stadium.

“We felt like we played well in spells, but we’re very disappointed,” said the full-back. “They’re a good team, but we didn’t create enough and then conceded silly goals which has been the story of our season so far.

“We had a bit of a lift early on with Lonners saving the penalty and it lifted the fans as well, so for that ten or fifteen minutes we caused them problems.

“We’ve got to look at the fact that we weren’t able to capitalise though, address it and hopefully we can make sure we don’t do the same in the next game.”

He continued: “I felt we were unlucky not to get a throw in in the lead up to their opener, but the guy finished it pretty well.

“I didn’t feel like we started the second half at a high enough tempo and we allowed them to dictate play a little more than we would have liked, so the second goal was a bit of a nail in the coffin.

“At that stage in the game, we had a mountain to climb after that.

“The main thing for us is to now bounce back straight away, starting with Fulham on Wednesday.

“That’s the nature of this league, with the games coming around quick, so we’ll work hard until then and with any luck we’ll pick up a positive result.”

Move onto where Kevin? Every single person from within the club who has spoken publicly has spouted exactly the same nonsense every week since the start of the season.

"We need to move on, bounce back and do better in the next game."

That mantra is now thinner than any wafer and less convincing than a politician's promise.

Part of the players' contracts seems to be they have to line up in turn and tell the fans the players need to improve, or they'll get the hang of it sooner or later. Oh, well, they only get a few thousands a week. Probably not worth getting up for.  Cool

All the players come out with this sort of lame shite when cornered by the local press. What's VERY noticeable is that NOT ONE of them has come out and said "we are right behind Dougie" and although it's obvious the fans want him gone tomorrow at the latest, not one of the players has voiced any support of any kind for Freedman. Speaks volumes for me about what the players think about Dougie and confirms much speculation on here about how they regard Freedman and the obviously piss poor morale that exists within the club at the moment.
