Dorian Dervite believes Wanderers have improved as a side since the volume levels have been turned up from the sidelines.

The Whites defender reckons constant cajoling from Neil Lennon is one of the major reasons for improvement on the pitch.

“He is very loud,” he told The Bolton News. “But that is what is needed sometimes to keep you going.

“We stay on the front foot. That is how we play better.

“You can see we are a different team now. We never stop, we keep going.

“The lads are all pulling in the same direction now and I think you can tell that on the pitch.”

Dervite has also paid tribute to the fans, who have helped to make a recognisable difference in the atmosphere around the ground since unpleasant scenes which led up to the departure of Dougie Freedman last month.

Wanderers welcome Huddersfield Town this weekend buoyed by the fact they have won all three of Lennon’s home games in charge.

Now the Frenchman hopes noise levels will continue to rise.

“The fans have been great with us,” he said. “Against Blackpool all you could hear was Bolton fans, they were amazing.

“We have been playing very well at home and the manager has said he wants that kind of level all the time.

“So I hope that if the fans can stay behind us again, we can continue to play the same way and get results.

“We all want the same thing, to win games, and it is a good time to play for the club right now.”
