He was sceptical at first, I even watched an American documentary with him, because he wasn't sure about whether to start taking them. Neighbour had a massive heart attack and died on his kitchen floor one morning, then not long after my dad started taking them.
As far as I'm aware his LDL cholesterol has reduced since he has, having remained pretty static before. Could be down to the diet, but they don't seem to be doing him any harm.
My main issue with prescription pills is the tendency to put anybody who mentions depression onto Anti-d's without any real attempt at therapy first, coming off them is a particularly nasty experience so you get locked in.
