I'm actually thinking that he may have just added an avatar before he got banned perhaps.

After further looking into this, if you are a member that is banned you cannot access the forum at all.

He can't.

Looking through the security log, one of our mods amended his profile AFTER he was banned, presumably to change his avatar to that of Amos.

I assume there was some thought as to who was behind the fake account?

Fwiw I don't agree with that opinion.

I also strongly believe mods should not be doing stuff like this - even in fun - as it leads us open as to the integrity of the running of the site and that is the one thing I've always believed is sacrosanct.

If you can't believe the site is run honestly then you can't believe anything that is said and done on it and therefore it loses its credability - just like all the other BWFC forums out there.

Admin and mods are no different to any other members and as such should not be using their powers for anything other than what they were intended for.

I hope this sets the record straight.
