Nothing on the news but I wish him a speedy recovery. Anyone who can hold his own on Countdown AND play centre half has earned my respect.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
Just seen on the news his injuries are not life threatening. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Looks like Clarke's demons are resurfacing again. His battles with depression have been well documented and eyewitness reports from the scene of the accident suggest he either walked in front of the oncoming lorry or jumped from a bridge into the path of oncoming traffic.
BBC reports have since suggested that his injuries are not life threatening. Hope the lad pulls through and recovers well.

Depression is indeed a terrible thing and it sounds like this was a suicide attempt or at least a "cry for help"
Article says:
"It was suggested on Monday that the injured man either walked into the road or fell from a bridge into the path of oncoming traffic"

So he's a little bit pissed off so decides to step in front of a lorry to end it all.
Selfish wanker. What about the chap who knocked him down - having to live with the fact he'd killed someone?
If you want to top yourself down a bottle of pills and lie on your bed until death comes for you. Don't traumatise other people.
It's called attention seeking. No sympathy whatsoever here.

If you were driving home tonight and someone deliberately stepped out in front of you and died, would you say "poor love, he must have been very unhappy" or "you fucking wanker, I hope you rot in hell"?

Quite intelligent, nice wife and family, good job and well liked.
I'll never understand this depression lark.

hope he gets better both mentally and physically, he always seemed like an intelligent man and he is one of the better ex footballer pundits and co-commentaters in my opinion.

Why would a self confessed christian have any time for the suffering of others?
Thats not what Jesus preached Norpig.

Depression isn't mentioned in the bible for obvious reasons.
