Best one was a Youth Hostelling Trip in Snowdonia, brilliant.

Blaenau Ffestiniog ... try and spell it after a couple of drinks .

I went to London twice from school for a weeks stay each time,  I remember them like it was yesterday. Plenty mischief, I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
In my final year of school I went away to St Athan with the Lads Club. Single sex trip this time but plenty of frolics during the hours of darkness. I remember one lad entering the Chapel, as the door was always open, and playing the organ at great volume at about 1 am. Happy days.
Bought the first eponymous titled Rory Gallagher album on that trip as well, softened the blow of coming home when listening it.

That went a little bit wrong for you 1874 Very Happy
Many years ago it was the Bolton Lads Club till the pompous cnuts got involved, then it became the Bolton Lads and Flat Dicks Club!
Now if that's gay I'll bow to your greater experience of having a taste for the bizarre!!

I volunteered at lads and GIRLS club. I even started a girls footy team there.

It's not gay if you don't push back

Don't know when it changed to both but I had some great times at the lads club when it was in bark street. There where plenty youth clubs for lads, lads and girls, and girls back in the day.
The record for goals scored in a season is held by a former lads club player and is still in the Guinness book of records I believe.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

I used to go to the Lads club when it was in the street over the road from Debenhams in town, not sure of the street name. I remember winning a one touch comp and having my trophy presentation at the town hall. There was the mayor of Bolton and Keith Branagan presenting the awards and when I went up for mine it was the turn of the mayor to give the trophy. I was proper fucking gutted. I just had to walk straight past Branny who was sat down behind the tosser who had denied me the chance to shake the great mans hand and the memory of having my trophy presented by one of my idols. Still annoyed about it to this day, bastards.

Bark Street is correct. There were plenty good times there and they had loads of football teams. Dont know if they still own the pitches at Hacken Lane but that was a great set up.
One or two lads I met there have passed away now, including the midnight chapel organist.
I suspect it was a better deal going there than being a boy scout!?

thats a bit harsh i feel.

i was about 12 or 13 and got caught in a tent with the girl guides on a camping trip.  and then used paraffin to make some artwork in a field.

I was like banksy before banksy, and with fuel and matches rather than spray paint.

I remember The Lads Club, it was ok.

Got put into a Boxing match with a kid who was older than me and Six foot taller.

He started throwing his weight around, anyway I was a bit more Nimble and Fleet of Foot.

So I jumped out of the ring and fucked off home Very Happy
