Genuine question, why do people have children?

I'm surrounded by people with kids and all they do is moan about them. The cost, the mess, the heartache etc.

It seems that from the moment they are conceived all they cause is worry. Will it be born healthy? Will it have big ears? Will it get in the right school? Will it do well at school? Will it have friends? Will it get into university? Will it get a decent job? Will it be gay? Will it meet someone nice? Will it provide grandchildren?

Although I have no doubt parents love their children, I've never actually heard a parent say having kids is amazing and makes them happy. All I hear is moaning.

Seriously, why do people bother?

The world is 99% dickheads. At least I know if I have a kid I can raise them and there will be one less selfish twat in the world.

My Kids are amazing and mean the world to me.  They probably worry more about me as a dad than i do about them as kids Very Happy

But don't most people think like you - their child will never get in trouble, but by the time it's 15 it's hanging outside the local spar spitting at old people.

No one is debating parents love their children, but I'm asking WHY people have children.

Is it simply something to fill their days, a need to be loved perhaps, or something else?

So you can't actually answer the question?

Same with everyone. For some reason humans feel the need to have children, although very few can actually say why.

Because it is my freedom of choice to have children because i want there to be honest decent human beings in the world.

That is an answer.

Now get down with your bad self

there isn't an answer as to why people want kids, it's just a feeling or a desire for people. I have 2 kids and they can drive me mad at times but i wouldn't change them for the world. It is rewarding bringing up children and teaching them morals and bringing them up the right way.

What happens if they turn out to be terrorists on benefits?

Arrogance mainly and the opportunity to be sanctimonious on social media.

its natural for people to want children, why do people make a decision not to have kids, thats a more interesting question

One child is perhaps natural, but having two, three or four is plain daft.

Why don't I have/want children? I don't want to worry about pointless things like schools, catchment areas and who is friends with who. I don't want to be bled dry by kids who only tolerate their parents at best.

I want to live my life as I want without always having to put someone else first. I want to live MY life, not live it through someone else.
