Wanderers are believed to have agreed a deal with Spanish full-back Juan Manuel Casado.

The 29-year-old has been training with the Whites for a fortnight but The Bolton News understands a contract has now been sorted by Neil Lennon.

Casado has a great deal of experience in Spain but was released by Almeria at the end of last season after their relegation.

He arrives at Wanderers to provide competition for Dean Moxey, with an announcement expected by the end of the week.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

No idea whatsoever if this guy is any good. Can't really be worse than moxey though surely. Time will tell.

"On 30 January 2015 Casado was transferred to fellow league team UD Almeria after agreeing to a 18-month deal. On 8 June, after the club's relegation, he was released. "

Doesn't sound promising! Shocked

Clubs release decent players all the time. Look at JayJay. Hierro. Anelka. Feeny. Erm.

I'd be surprised if any of our first team squad got into Bacrelona's D team.

Glad that the defence is getting sorted for the first time in years but presumably this is the reason we haven't got £4k / week left for a striker.

Moxey hasn't done much wrong this season so far, pretty solid. So why the stick
