Ben Amos was pleased to see Bolton Wanderers come from behind to clinch a deserved point against Brentford on Monday night.

The 25-year-old denied the Bees on several occasions to help Wanderers earn a share of the spoils as Neil Danns’ half-volley cancelled out John Swift’s opener.

And although frustrated to see the Whites’ winless run continue, Amos praised the manner of his team-mates’ performance to earn a draw at Macron Stadium.

“It was tough at times,” said the goalkeeper. “Brentford had great movement in the final third and it was difficult to cope with.

“It was something we’ve not really come up against so far, but we dug in well and it was a fair point in the end.

“Having said that, we’re a little disappointed to only come away with a point. We had a couple of half-chances that on another day could drop our way and we take all three points.

“I’ve said before if we don’t win the game then we’ve got to make sure we don’t lose the game, and that’s what we did.”

Amos continued: “We need to be resilient and stick together. We’re determined to turn things around and make it hard to beat us.

“In the past we’ve been really hard to beat by anyone at home, and we need to get back to that.

“We need to get the self-belief that we can beat anyone who comes here, and we can only get that by picking points up and not getting beaten.

“It’s hard not to blame it on luck but if one or two things go our way in recent games then it’s a whole different ball game altogether. It’s another three or six points and we’re up the table.

“It was really important that we came away with something, especially now with one eye looking forward to Cardiff at home on Saturday.

“Hopefully we can push on and three points against them would be a step in the right direction.”

Ben Amos has been a let down but his save last night was fantastic and saved us a point.

Credit where it's due.

how has Amos been a let down? Without him things would be even worse

He was beaten by a cracking shot from a Chelsea starlet, otherwise he was excellent and saved us on 3 or 4 occasions.

He's scored even fewer goals than Madine.

That's poor.

Middlesbrough 0-3:

2nd goal goes straight through his legs.

Hudderfield 1-4:

1st goal is a relatively weak shot from outside the box that he doesn't save even though he seemed to be getting to it.
4th goal again is a pretty weak shot from a tight angle that's gone straight past him.

Brighton 2-2:

1st goal is just a royal cock up starting with a simple cross that he drops. He then loses his nerve, comes out to get a tackle in and can't save the shot from 18 yards out.

QPR 3-4:

2nd goal comes from him dropping a weak header at goal. Should have been a straightforward catch but he drops it and the rebound is a tap in.

Birimignham 0-1:

Just doesn't deal with the cross at all and it's a tap in for Robinson. Not saying he was completely to blame but he's gotta take some responsibility for the lack of organisation in that defence.

Ipswich 0-2:

1st goal is another weak shot that he gets to and should have pushed away easily but he just gets a weak hand on it.

Those are just examples of goals he blatantly could have done a lot better with. There are others that are a bit more debatable. Either way, we're 18 games into the season and last night was one of the few times he's come up with a top save that's absolutely got us out the shit, unlike Lonergan who I think did that countless times last season. Then there's the crosses. How often do you see him come for a corner and collect it comfortably?

I almost forgot his distribution which was particularly appalling last night.

Actually having gone through it piece by piece, he's more than a let down, he's been downright poor.
