Anyone on here fish?
I really don't get fishing,although a lot of my mates have tried to convert me.
It's hugely popular,and I don't know why. So if anyone can explain the allure of sitting by a lake for five of six hours,with a flask of coffee and a few sandwiches,please feel free to enlighten me.
Bear in mind that I have form when it comes to ponds.

Never understood it either, when I play golf and see people sat at the side of a lake in the pissing down rain. They must be mad.

My Dad's massively into coarse fishing - it's pretty much the only time he leaves the house nowadays.

He tried getting me into it when I was a nipper but I found it boring.

However, there must be something in the genes because when I got older, I developed an interest in both Fly Fishing and Beach Casting.

(Still can't be arsed with the sitting by a pond drowning worms nonsense though.)

In October I ticked one off my bucket list when I caught a fish off the coast of The Dominican Republic from the back of a catamaran using light spinning tackle.

It wasn't a big fish (2 lbs 4 oz actually) but it was something I'd always wanted to do.

Carp fishing is boring shite though.

I've been fishing just the once a long time ago. Me and a chum (the proper fisherman) took 24 bottles of ale and a big bag of ganja.

I went fishing on the seafront at Morecambe once, age 10.

We sat there for an hour. We didn't catch anything. I haven't been fishing since.

Sounds about right that for Morecambe.

We used to go digging for worms on the front, never really caught anything either!

Arnside was better.
