You've read one LPP post, you've read them all.

Why say in 10 words what you can say in 1000.

If you'd read it you'd know I've already bought my season ticket and wouldn't have made a tit of yourself again, not even a wonky one.

I was talking generally, it's you that likes to make everything about LPP and Wendy.

Nope, you mentioned me by name in your original "article" (using the word loosely) and I called you on your rank and open hypocrisy. Again. It seems you're very good at dishing it out but not so hot on taking it which is surprising given how often you've alluded to the number of people you've had in your 'box'.

My intention is to buy a season ticket, for the first time ever, in the next week or so. Not because I'm expecting fantastic football, but because this is the first time I've had the time and money, and its good for the club.

Having said that, with a round trip of 160+ miles per game, I doubt I will be able to get to all of them. When I consider the overall cost, especially the fuel, plus parking, I do have doubts as to the wisdom of such a move. Added to my concerns, are the comments about the viability, and even the survival, of the club, with the current financial uncertainty. Throwing good money after bad won't help anyone.

Whatever I do, I don't think it will make me a better, or worse, supporter, just a little more informed. There is much more happening off the pitch than on, and getting involved with the speculation won't make me a better, or worse, supporter either.

Mud slinging and petty squabbles about who are good, or bad, supporters, passes the time when we have nothing else to do, I suppose, but its one topic than can never be resolved, because we all have differing views, and personal circumstances.

I'm glad my post made you take action.

And for the record, you are a better fan than the "fans" that stay at home every Saturday afternoon.

Telling people to buy a season ticket out of loyalty / duty is just plain stupid. If the people you are accusing of being 'negative' do follow your advice then all you have done is encourage them to bring there negative mentality with them to the ground?

Think we need to find out who the biggest fan is amongst the season ticket holders otherwise we'll never know who's opinion is the most valid.

First thing to measure is number of away games attended over the past 6 seasons (obviously), then how much you've spent on merchandise, followed by an audit of the number of Bolton posters each remaining fan has on their walls.

If we still can't find a winner it's down to what you've named your kids (or in absence of offspring, pets). Once SK reveals he convinced his mum to name their cat 'Mr Tal Ben Haim-Whiskers' back in 2006 I think we'll find a winner.

I don't have a problem with negativity if the person making that point is contributing to the club.

What I am sick of is all these fannies that love to be negative about the club and the recent turnover. I'm sure there's some irony in the fact these gobshites are slagging off Anderson/Holdsworth for saving the club, yet can't shell out £300 themselves to help the club.

we all care about Bolton whether we go or not, i choose to go because i support my team and can't imagine not being there after all these years so perhaps it is due to duty but i do still get excited about going even after the season we've just had.

I have no issue with the likes of Breaders using their right not to go for whatever reason that is up to them and i wouldn't think anything less of anyone if they don't go. I have been a season ticket holder since 1995 (been going since 1987) but having a season ticket doesn't mean you are instantly an expert, i hear utter drivel from fans every game

We all on here for one thing only, our mutual love of BWFC

And that's not counting the 60+ away grounds I've been to watching The Wanderers over the years, so all in all, I reckon my balance sheet's looking ok, ta very much.
Bullshit, should we all feel sorry for you?

You must of had it hard, bless you, hot milk.

I agree, these idiot Bolton fans ( that never go ) can kiss my arse, they're wasting so much time posting bollocks about something they don't even know, never been to a game some of these losers, and they think they know what they're talking about FFS. Hahaha.

No fucking use to the club what so ever

Those that actually attend games and inject money into the club are in the minority on here, sadly.

We are outnumbered lad

I will renew but everyone's different it may be down to cash or other priorities, i agree with Nat in as much as this a big pre season and they need support during the bad times anyone can support a good team, i disagree with Bread re the cinema comparison, for some reason football is different otherwise no one would watch any team outside the top six. its a bit like family a way of life.

Take it further and probably 50000 Bolton fans exist its just 35000 don't go any more yet all of them saw us in the 4th division in the 80's Not mathematicians then!!!

Well to be pedantic all the 50,000 could have seen us in the fourth division as there were 23 home matches at an average attendance say 6,000 = 138,000 plus of course 23 away games that they could have attended as well.

As for me I've never had a season ticket and right from the 1960's I never felt compelled to attend every match.

Watching Bolton and more in particular the time spent with friends and family going to and from the games and the socialising before and / or after the game was all to me about having a good time.

It mattered not really if the team was good or bad as long as the company and the laughs were there.

I've seen Bolton if the top division, sliding down to the third, getting back up to the top then falling to the fourth, returning once again to the top and now currently down to the third.

It has been a very enjoyable experience over the years but it has never to me been more than an entertainment.

I'm certainly not one of those who sees the club as thier religion and follows them blindly irrespective of whether they are actually enjoying the experience or not.

I'm certainly not a martyr to the club and if over the years something more important to me than watching a GAME of football, then I never thought twice about what to do nor felt guilty in anyway for not going to the game.

I've travelled miles by myself and spent a small fortune to watch Bolton in various locations throughout the country but on the other hand also I have declined free tickets to go with my mates if for whatever reason if I didn't fancy that game or I had something else planed.

I don't get this devoted fan nonsense - it is simply a GAME and you get no medals for going nor do you get a smacked bottom for not going either.

For those people who crow something like, 'I've attended ever game for the last 42 years' well good for them but for me there's been plenty of times where I've wanted to do something more with my life than follow a game.

Don't get me wrong some of the best times of my life have been BWFC related, all I'm saying is that being an ever present fan is not something I've ever wanted to be.

I couldn't give a fuck if people think I'm a shit fan or not, nor does it impress me those telling me they have not missed a game since Adam was a lad - so what?

Fwiw I came to footy forums originally to listen to the views of people who have attended the games because I'm a big believer that seeing a game live you get a much greater grasp of how the team and players played, than by watching it on TV.  I still believe that to be the case even now.

Of course some people who go to the game can't even see what is in front of them (there is non so blind as those that will not see) and sometimes you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see the failings of players, teams or managers by seeing them on TV.

I much rather go to the game and make my own mind up about what I see but sadly these days due to age, family commitments and the lack of enthusiasm to make 500 mile round trips to catch a game and see the scattering of the few distant relations I still have left in and around Bolton, I will be once again declining the option to purchase a Season Ticket again next season.
