Professional contract

Fiev of Boltons youth players have been given professional contracts:
Sanmi Odelusi, 19
Jay Lynch, 19
Alex McQuade, 19
Joe McKee, 19
Andy Kellett, 18

On Tuesday Bolton signed Joe McKee from Burnley and has jumped straight into the frame having been given the Number 35. Other than that Jay, Sanmi, Andy and Alex all impressed last season and have there been given a proper one-year contract.

Also, The new squad numbers were announced today. Surprising to see Jack Sampson, Michael O'Halloran, Riley, Vela, Wylde, Adam Blakeman, Tom Eaves, Lynch and McKee already with numbers

Why surprising?

Many on here have been bemoaning the fact that the club doesn't bring through enough "home-grown" talent. Now is the perfect time apparently.

Giving them numbers doesn't mean they'll play or even be on the bench.

It's just a formality in case they need to.

O'Halloran, Riley and Vela have already played in the Premiership and I expect to see more of them next season.

Eaves toured with the first team last year and Wylde would have played in the Prem last season if he had been clearance. No surprises there either.
