Everything shows the Americans as the 'goodies'. The cowboys an indian movies and the US cavalry riding in to attack the savages (red indians). The wholesale slaughter of the indigenous population has been presented by Hollywood (with one or two notable exceptions) as an heroic part of American history.

How many people (inc. Americans) know that Texas and most of California were once part of Mexico.

I knew that!!!! Especially the California bit because of Baja California in Mexico, used to be attached to the US State of California under the Mexican rule.

I've been down to the Cherokee Indian reservation in North Carolina, (twice), and the saying that history is written by the victors is so true. Far from being savages, they had a very well structured political system, and even invented their own language. They also used blowpipes for hunting, lived in houses, (tepees were only for hunting trips), and when a chief died, the new one had to take his wife as an advisor forl decisions affecting the whole tribe, (a very early example of equality). The fundamental mistake all Indian tribes made was to believe the white man wanted to share the country and its bounty, and nobody owned any of it as it was given by the Gods for all to share.. Ironically, the reservation is now very well off financially, and educationally, due to setting their own local laws, which also lets them have their own casino, that all other Americans visit, as they are not permitted any in their own state. Being next to the Great Smokey mountains helps as well !

Is that the same tribe that owns The Hard Rock Cafe group?

Apologies - I knew it was owned by one of the tribes, just couldn't remember which one.

Before Vietnam it was Korea. The foreign policy of the Yanks appears to be ' do what I say not what I do.'

I do agree that Ahmedinnerjacket needs to be kept on a short leash. If Iran had nuclear capability he would try to nuke Israel. That's why Mossad keep taking out all the Iranian scientists involved in their nuclear project.
