Bohemian Rhapsody really does make me angry. I hate that song. I've noticed that when I am forced to listen to it (gym, pub, restaurant etc) it makes me want to kill the nearest person.

Years ago I arrived at about 2pm for an away game at Port Vale. For the next hour they played "Saturday Night" over and over again as though it was the only record they had. To this day I have no idea why.

You have to know Stokies as to why. Once they like a song, they just seem want to hear it over and over and over again! Plus Port Vale, even in those days, didn't have much money to play anything else!

I don't think any of us can honestly say, hand on heart, that we haven't smacked the nearest person, regardless of race, creed, or colour, straight in the mush with a heavy object when "Ebony and Ivory" comes over the airwaves.

Ditto: Bohemian Rhapsody
Ditto: Lilac Wine
Ditto: Move Like Jagger

That Crazy Frog bollocks.
I will always love you by Whitney Houston.
All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey.
My heart will go on by Celine Dion.

I love Bohemian Rhapsody but I can see why others might consider it annoying.

I am a bit shocked that Numpty nominated 'Lilac Wine'. How can anyone feel like that about Jeff Buckley?

I don't know about a Jeff Buckley version, which might be fine for all I know but I'm talking about the one by Elkie Brooks. In her day she was a great singer with a band called Vinegar Joe along with Robert Palmer but that particular song - it's just so..... shite.

Fair enough, to be honest, I thought it was a Jeff Buckley original.

Anyway, the Jeff Buckley version is just wonderful in every way.

Granted it's a better version and apparently the song's been around since 1950 but I still reserve the right to lash out.

Probably not popular choices but:

1. 'Shine' by Take That. Mark Owen - bloody awful singer !

2. 'Mull of Kyntyre' by Paul McCartney

Got to be honest i can't stand Jeff Buckley either.

But wouldn't say he annoyed me to the point of violence.

I have to say, your perception of music isn't very good Hipster. You described The Stone Roses as "awful" and "can't stand" Jeff Buckley. These are critically lauded and acclaimed artists. I will start a Chas 'n' Dave thread if you like.
