WANDERERS have been dealt mixed news on the injury front today.

Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick has been ruled out for the rest of the season with damage to his medial knee ligament.

However, Andy Taylor could miss just a fortnight of action after a scan revealed just a minor tear to his calf muscle, sustained in the 2-0 win at Shrewsbury.

The club will not be drawn on Gary Madine’s chances of playing against Chesterfield this weekend, with Phil Parkinson confirming to The Bolton News that his fitness will be monitored closely over the next 48 hours before a decision is made.

Out of the three Alnwick is probably the least important in terms of Howard not being far off the same standard as a replacement.  I would say similar about Taylor and it was interesting to see Wabara play on the left for the U23, he usually plays on the right so suspect he could be pushing Moxey for a start.

the key will be to get Madine back, he is integral to how we play and as Parkinson has said if we need to go with Long or someone else we will need to adapt our style of play.
