Wigan relegated.
Will they need their fancy training ground now?

Blackburn or Clough to follow Wigan down now. Will Clough be regretting his decision

Very unlikely.

Mowbray was gutted when Huddersfield rested 10 first teamers for the playoffs in their game against Brum - which Brum duly won. Personally, I think it's funny as f***.

Going to be very interesting next Sunday. Cloughie didn't even make the bench in Forests last game maybe Warburton doesn't rate him, hope it works out for him and Forest survive but they will need 3 points against Ipswich as Blackburn could nick the points at Brentford.

I wouldn't.

We've been far more effective since he left.

Good player, but was anonymous for long periods. A luxury we couldn't afford.

Will Parky go back for Ameobi?

I've never seen him play in the flesh so can only base my analysis of him on what I've seen on TV and streams but I'd go along with Natasha's view.

He's undoubtedly got great ball skills but he seems to small and dare I say lightweight, to be fully effective in a team.

The fact that no other teams lined themselves up to bid for him at a time when we were prepared to sell urgently for whatever we could get, seems to back that up to my thinking.

I tend to think his best position would be as 'set up' striker, a player who can make that telling pass inside the penalty box - a sort of Teddy Sheringham style player.

I can imagine him more effective in a successful team rather than one struggling like we were last season and Forest since his transfer.

I don't think we could afford him back nor would ne be what we need next season.

Have a look at the link and then tell me we haven't missed him, if Forest still owe us money for him i would say send him back to us

I agree with both of you. We'll definitely need more firepower in the Championship and Zach has demonstrated he hasn't got it. That said we don't know what budget we'll have yet.

I guess it depends on what money we have and what positions need to be filled - and what embargo constraints we might still be facing.

As far as I can understand it both Ameobi and Morais are free agents and would do a similar job for us. With a dozen or more out of contract this summer, it might be a bit much for us to have both of them fighting for just one position.

It might mean we might have to plump for one or the other even if nobody else wants them - and they will!

I'm not sure of the relevance of those stats piggy?

We will be a struggling Championship side next season and I would think his performances at Forest this season would be more relevant.

The fact that the Forest management aren't currently picking him (assuming he's not injured or suspended) and they are desperately in needs of goals to stay up, seems to be more telling to me than 9 goals he got in a clearly not wonderful third division that we've just got promoted from.

Just my view on things.

I hope not.

Morais has shown what a winger with an end product can do, Ameobi was all running and no final ball.

Sign Morais, forget about Ameobi.

thats what this site is about, different opinions, i just feel he still has a lot more to offer and think he will only get better with time. He started off well at Forest with 4 goals but they are struggling in general.

I still think he was pushed out because we needed the money and i suppose us getting Morais and ALF in his place justifies his leaving, but i would still love to see him pull on a white shirt again

Ameobi has played at Championship level over 90 times for Newcastle and Cardiff and scored just 3 goals.

If he can't produce in a Newcastle team full of quality players, he isn't going to do it playing alongside Spearing and Pratley.

If we signed Ameobi and let Morais go I would be seething.

I would love Clough back as well, don't think it likely though unless Forest go down.

I don't think we can afford to be nostalgic about Clough just because he's one of our own academy products. The fact is we'll need a lot better strikers than him if we are going to survive next year and we need to cast the net a lot wider than the usual suspects.

I think the sale of Clough and the loss of  Ameobi, caused Parky to do a mini rebuild in the transfer window that gave us our promotion.

Clough is too lightweight and Ameobi's final ball is rubbish.
