Ian Evatt reveals Josh Sheehan has suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament 13223453

Ian Evatt has revealed Wanderers pair Josh Sheehan and Amadou Bakayoko are both facing lengthy spells on the sidelines due to injury.

The Bolton boss revealed Josh Sheehan suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and will be out of action for around nine months.

Evatt also confirmed Bakayoko has a torn hamstring and will be out for around six weeks.

Speaking after his side’s 1-0 defeat against Wycombe, he said: “We feel a bit like the world is against us but in these times we have to pull together, stick together and keep our belief.

“If we perform like that in the next two home games, that will be enough to win. There was a lot good about that (performance) today.

“It’s not just those three - we’ve got Eoin Doyle missing, we’ve got Gethin Jones missing. Half our first team squad are missing.

“The lads who come in and started today have given absolutely everything. I was disappointed and dejected after Wednesday because that wasn’t us, it isn’t what we’re about.

“Today was much more like it. In a difficult situation I thought we were excellent.”

Evatt admits his side’s recent injury crisis has been difficult and says it is important they “stick together as a group”.

He added: “I’m not going to sit here and moan about injuries. We’ve got loads, of course, and a lot that we couldn’t have avoided.

“But that’s football, people get injured. Like I said, we do feel like the world is against us but it’s important that we stick together as a group.

“If it just means us, the group, sticking together, that’s fine. We have belief, we know what we’re about.

“We know what we can do and today I thought we showed that. Hopefully the fans will be understanding of the situation.

“We all need to come together in times like this. When it’s us against the world, that’s when you have to have that real desire and attitude to be even more as one. That’s what we want to see.”

Hopefully Sharon has some hidden cash up her sleeve and we can bolster our squad in January, but I think this season is quickly going belly up.

Squad looks very thin at the moment and Williams will be out for a while if he's dislocated his shoulder i would have thought? If we have money or can get loans in it needs to be early or the second half of the season will be a very long one.
