I was out dog walking with my nephew around midnight, when I was stopped by two policemen with slimy Manc accents and interrogated on why a nine year old boy was walking the streets at such a time...with a fully grown adult...at half term...

Don't these fucking parasites have real crime to be fighting? The rowdy drugged up 12 to 16 year olds that entertain the park across the street from my house at all hours, for instance, a point I've spent my entire day kicking myself for not bringing to the table?

Not at midnight. Usually the only children out at that time are the ones being stolen.

I can't remember their exact words but they were more concerned about my parenting (over a child I'm not the parent of, for the record) than the possibility that I was an abductor. As though there's a Tucked Up In Bed Act that I'm not aware of.

My dogs like to run free at night, so its a job i never have to do.

Sometimes the police are better off chasing burglars rather than upsetting law abiding members of the public. But what if you had been a kiddy fiddler and the nine year old boy had special needs and had been tempted to go with you to see your puppies ?

An unlikely scenario but one that the police have probably come across before. Remember those two nosy coppers from South Yorks who decided to have a word with a courting couple sat in their car in Sheffield ? I bet there isn't a day goes by where Olivia Reivers isn't thankful that the police intervened when they did.
