EFL pundit Ali Maxwell has singled out Kieran Sadlier for praise following his late winner at Doncaster.
Sadlier beat Jonathan Mitchell with a clinical volley after getting on the end of Dapo Afolayan’s cross 13 minutes from time as the Whites returned to winning ways.
West Ham loanee Mipo Odubeko had cancelled out Amadou Bakayoko’s opener just moments earlier.
It was Sadlier’s third goal for Wanderers since joining from Rotherham during the January transfer window.
Maxwell was impressed with his technique and named it his “goal of the day” from the Football League.
Speaking as a pundit on EFL on Quest, he said: “It feels like this is just another game that shows why they (Doncaster) are likely to go down.
“They get themselves back level with Odubeko and you think, ‘go on, hold onto it or go and win the game’.
“A minute later, Sadlier – my goal of the day by the way – that is a stunning finish against his former side. The control on it was fantastic.”
Ian Evatt’s men have now won eight away games in the league this season and are 11th in the table with three games to go.
The Whites are back in action on Monday when they welcome Accrington Stanley to the UniBol (KO 3pm).
Meanwhile, Doncaster are six points from safety as they bid to beat the drop and maintain their League One status.
