Mrs Sluffy as just brought home a Chinese take away meal - Satay chicken and egg fried rice - yummy!

Anybody else love Chinese food, or if not what are your favourite meals?

Doesn't just have to be Chinese you know.

What do people like - what have you been eating recently - everybody tuck in (see what I did there - yeah I know, keep to the day job!).

I like lots of different foods but my last meal if I were on death row would be steak and chips with (I know it sounds a bit poncey) petit pois bonne femme.

I love Indian food - Pilau rice with chilli chicken Tikka masala, a huge keema naan and popadoms, mango chutney and red onions! YUM!

Failing that, I like sweet and sour chicken (Cantonese style) with egg fried rice.

I also like comfort foods like Beef Wellington or corned beef hash (has to be done properly though, non of that stewed wet shit )

I'm also VERY partial to a good steak, with think crispy chips and peppercorn sauce! The Steak has to be rare and not a crappy cut either.

I also love Brussels pate on warm petit pains ...

Not just peas but peas cooked with onions and bacon. Smile

And I agree with you the steak should be good quality and not over cooked. At the risk of sounding even more pretentious I find cooking it on a griddle really enhances the flavour.

What are everyone's feeling regarding Black Peas, No-one outside of Bolton seems to know what they are!!

Wish they sold them locally - You have to eat them with loads of vinegar!

I love them...

I get them from my local Greengrocer in westhoughton, I believe Asda sell them too but they are processed.

Another good thing to do for a bonfire party (ive done this every year and they always get polished off pretty quick) is get a big pan, few tins of beans, add a good glug of Bourbon (Jim beam, Jack Daniels etc) plenty of crushed dried chillies, some chopped spring onions and boil till the beans go really thick. then, add some thin slices of crispy (obviously pre-cooked in a separate pan) streaky bacon and stir the lot together - trust me, its amazing, serve next to the fire during fireworks in a cup with a spoon - your guests will love it!

I will.

I'm hosting a fireworks party this year as my garden is a mess anyway, not had the best summer to deal with it have we - next summers job! I have enough firworks currently in my house to sink an Ocean liner! Neutral

I actually made the 'concoction' when I couldn't get any black peas, Id had a few wines and started messing about with whatever was in the fridge, I know bacon and beans would go together, so just spiced it up a bit with chillies and spring onion - every body loved it and I ended up making another pan! Its become a kind of 'done thing' between my family and friends now...
