Is anyone staying up tonight to watch the Gridiron final on the BBC ?

I reckon the New England patriots will emerge victorious.

Yep! I'll be watching.

If Brady does his thing then NE wins but the Giants are rolling so who knows.

Last time they met the Patriots were the favourites but the Giants won it. Tonight it's the Patriots turn.

It sounds like it was a close game.

I tried asking someone at work on friday what the rules are and what you can and can't do during the game, safe to say it sounds very long winded.

Fair play to anyone who understands it because it's all a bit lost on me. Though if I ever went back to America again I would like to go and watch a game of NFL or Baseball.

It was a close game, for a change. Each team taking the lead at one point or another.

Although I have to admit that teh half-time entertainment was far superior!

It was on too late for me. The bloody game lasts for hours. Too many bloody commercial breaks and hyperbole for my liking. Mind you, it had a worldwide audience of 110 million. A 35 second advert during a commercial break cost 3.5 million. ( 100,000 per second )

You have to say that the Yanks sure know how to put on a spectacle.

It is like as though the game was created for television commercials!
It is one thing that really distracts me from the game are alll teh chances for a commercial break - very annoying. A 60 minute games that can last upto 3 hours!!! If it didn't have as many commercials then I think it would be a good game to watch and would probably catch on more outside the US.

Stupid question but how do the 2 teams actually get to the final of the ''Super Bowl''?

There's two conferences AFC and NFC, basically the division winners during the regular season are seeded highest plus two wild cards (the teams with the best record who didn't win their division)

they then play in the playoffs within their conference, then the winner of each conference play "the Superbowl"
