Did you know that an 'Americano' (Espresso with water)was given that name by the Italians because they claimed a regular espresso was too strong for Americans.

I didn't know that. I enjoy an espresso but I like to take my time and enjoy a coffee when in a cafe and an espresso is gone in 5 slurps.

RR - Isn't all that cream, syrup and chocolate sprinkles for the women? I never knew guys ordered that stuff. It's like going in to a pub with your mates and ordering a pino grigio.

Does anyone remember the 'Camp' coffee they used to sell at Burnden. It was a coffee syrup which came in a bottle like HP sauce and you added one spoon of syrup to a cup of hot water - it was horrible!!!!

Don't know if Starbucks brought it out in England, but they had an instant coffee called 'VIA' which they claimed tasted as good as their regular. They are liars!!! Starbucks should also be boycotted until they start paying their taxes like everyone else.

The thread above mentions it - I thought it tasted great, just like the real thing. Just quite expensive...
