Only a week to go and we have thrown two leads away 1-0 atRotherham 3-1 at Shrewsbury and a loss to Carlisle.Thank god they are meaningless run outs. Not looking forward to Burnley especially as Austin is still their. We have a massive problem Zat Knight he is apalling and gives the team no confidence.God Help us.

Not great I know but Man Utd have lost 2 out of 3 games and Villa have lost at Luton 2-0 tonight so the finger is not on the panic button just yet. Looks like it was mostly played under water in any case.

Couldn't care less. So long as the players got a good run out and nobody got injured then that's what counts.

If we can come out of pre-season with our entire squad unscathed and free from injury then it is a massive bonus. There really is no pressure in pre-season. It's all about giving fringe players a chance to shine. Come the 3rd August it will be an entirely different ballgame.

It would be nice to go through pre-season unbeaten but it's not the be all and end all.

Does nobody take it on board when me and a few others say that pre season does not predict your season? As i and a few others have said, we went through pre season with straight losses and still finished 6th in the top flight. If we was goin off pre season then we should have been relegated under sam allardyce. If its a few games into the actual season and results are crap then fair enough but after 3 games that are a run out, for experimenting and to gain fitness then we really shouldnt be paniking at all.

Would you mind stopping by Old Trafford and picking up Rooney and drop him off at Stamford Bridge?  Just be careful of his hamstring.

After 2-1 loss to Burnley next week we will see "it's only the first game"  and other such nonsense.

Some on here had better wake up quickish..... but more importantly Gartside and Big Eddie better think seriously about spending a few bob.

As many keep arguing the pre-season means nowt .......  but it would be nice to see some positives coming out of these games. Even the BEN said the performance so far as been not as expected.

Burnely are a powerhouse compared to the pub teams so far ..... I'm nervous.

If we had won all our pre-season games convincingly, we'd have been trotting out the "importance of establishing a winning mentality". As it turns out, Dougie has used the games to try out squad players in various positions - not very successfully. I also have a feeling that he was expecting them to do better, especially in the second friendly when the starting line up was stronger "on paper".
I'm hoping he puts out a team that will give Betis a runaround just to start to build a bit of confidence. Experimentation is good and this is the right time to be doing it, but at some point we need to think about results and player confidence - ideally before the real thing starts at Burnley.
