Why Do Male Cabin Crew On Aircraft Tend To Appear Effeminate?

I'm committing a cardinal sin and using technology to allow me to post on this forum whilst on holiday. As I was flying out I observed, not for the first time, that a male member of the cabin crew was rather effeminate. Is it an attempt to avoid or become pilot fodder in the shagging stakes, or is it because he works with women all the time and has developed their mannerisms?

Not wishing to discriminate but I suspect your statement is pretty accurate. I have flown quite a bit and only ever came across one member of male cabin crew who was obviously straight. Perhaps it's just one of those jobs that gay men seem to veer towards.

I tried to be a little more pc than normal, 10/10 for picking up on the evidence but what do you think attracts was the real question.

They usually sit or hang around at the back of the plane near the toilets.
