Phew that was close. Mr Snuggles nearly lost his head.
God I haven't felt this happy since my wedding day. I haven't felt this happy about a football result since, well, since Michael Ricketts got the winner at Old Trafford. I think this win was almost as unexpected as that one albeit for different reasons and it seems to have given my spirits a huge lift especially after that dire show against Ipswich last weekend.
I know, we've had better and more important games than this and even had wins that we didn't expect but for some reason this feels somehow sweeter, maybe because of the context and overall feeling we've had around us this season. It's like we had nothing but dark fog and rain all day every day and suddenly there's a bright sunshine peeping through the clouds. It's not paradise by any means, our problems aren't suddenly solved but here and now I feel some hope, real hope and maybe I'm right to do that. I'm almost certainly getting carried away but tonight I don't care. I'm going to relax and enjoy that feeling because it's been so rare to have anything to smile about this season.
