Andy Lonergan may have been on the losing side in back-to-back Wanderers matches but he remains upbeat about the team’s defensive displays.

Only a penalty at Middlesbrough and a wonder goal from Huddersfield’s Oliver Norwood have beaten the 30-year-old in the past month.

He has had to pick the ball out of his net just four times in six games since being called upon to deputise for the injured Adam Bogdan.

Lonergan is naturally disappointed to lose matches but remains happy with his own form and hopes to get back to clean sheets against Doncaster at the Reebok on Saturday.

“I’ve had quite a few quiet afternoons and I’ve not had too many shots to save recently, “ he said.

“I’m feeling really comfortable with the team and especially my defenders. They’ve all been magnificent lately.

“It’s a shame we couldn’t keep our unbeaten run going, but we’ll bounce back.”
