Keen on tennis, are we, Nat......?

I played tennis until I was 16, I only came runner-up in the National Championships so I quit.

I've never met any of those people you describe, I only ever mingled with rich, clever, and witty people.

Me too. Next season is going to be very interesting with all the new rules and regulations. All the cars will have 1.6 litre engines and I fancy McLaren to improve dramatically on last season. Just a pity that Paul Di Resta lost his seat.

I think Nat looks splendid in this one and the kid that beat her must have been something special:

Rugby League is the other sport I follow with a passion and have done for nearly as long as the Whites.
I happen to think that RL players are "more honest" than footballers and as such provides great entertainment.
Two ex Wanderers who would have been great in RL would have been SKD and Lofty. Lofty loved the game, and he once told me what position he would have played!! Can't say I was surprised.

Nothing comes close to football; but I do like most sports, even more so when it's a tournament. I've even been known to watch bowls.

cricket is the only other sport i follow, went to the Ashes test match at Old Trafford last year and been to quite a few other test matches, one dayers and 20/20 games for Lancs and England over the years.
I love boxing too but not having Sky Sports restricts my viewing, i wish they would show more on terrestrial TV, like the good old days of Benn and Eubank

BBC used to show the ABA finals on 'Sportsnight with Coleman' many years ago. Now the BBC is virtually devoid of any decent sport bar the 6 nations, with horse racing now gone for good.

NHL ( ice hockey ), got hooked on it when I lived in Colorado,  one of the best sporting nights I have had was game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in 2001, Colorado Avalanche vs New Jersey Devils,  Avs winning 3 - 1 to win their 2nd cup, at the final hooter 20000 fans just lifted the roof off the Pepsi Center, fantastic night.  They have started showing in on TV here now, premiersport on Virgin.

Nowt beats a day at the cricket, or five days if it lasts that long and your liver can hold up.

An amazing clip is that. Just look at the size of the crowd back in 1971. Nobody wore a helmet back then either.

Mike proctor of Gloucester complained about the light. The umpire pointed up to the sky and asked "What's that?" "The moon",replied Proctor. "Well how far do you wanna see?" said the umpire. Brilliant!
